My complaint:
6 Months ago, my family decided to buy an Audi A3 2.0 TDI (125KW = 170HP) Sportback put on the road in December 2006. The car had always longlife service and was just out of it manufacturer warranty. We have been happy with it until when we were coming back two weeks ago from our Holiday in France. Just in the middle of the night in nowhere with sleeping young children, our Audi A3 has lost all its power. There was no sound to hear just the car lost its soul. After a long struggle with the “Audi mobiliteit garantie” who could not help to do anything than taking our car to two garages without any experience on Audi’s cars and destroying the cover of the engine (First damage). Finally, our Audi A3 could not be repaired in France and should go back to Netherlands (thanks ANWB).
After some weeks, our car arrived to Netherlands (all this time we had no replacement car).
And then the garage (Audi) came to us with the following diagnosis:
“The gasklephuis (throttle body) was broken and some parts went into the engine and that is why two cylinders are not working. We estimate the cost of the damages between 6000 € and 12000€, probably a new engine should be brought”.
We were shocked and we asked the garage to contact PON Audi Netherlands to ask them to support us in this issue. We think that a young car should be able to last for a time especially the engine part. But to our surprise PON Audi Netherlands refused to support us and gave us one word: “NO”.
I would like to bring to you attention that PON Audi Netherlands refused to help us although the broken part gasklephuis (throttle body) was changed one year ago in a recall action N.L ACTIE 23B6 (We have it on the maintenance book of the car). This means that PON knew that the gasklephuis (throttle body) was not good and probably the changed part was not good too. PON Audi just refuses to take its responsibility in the catastrophe we are in today. All our life is down since we have to change all our commuting schedules (two children, schools, work, shopping, etc.) while we had paid a couple of 10 thousands Euros for a car that can not drive anymore.
I am writing this so that you can give me some advices how I can handle the rejection of Audi to my problem while it is clear that they are responsible for it. I need your support to bring Audi to hear my problem, and to do something about it.
Thanks
