Complaint: goldcar onterecht aanrekenen schade/ gold car unduly charing for damage

My complaint:

I enter this complaint in English due to the international nature of the dispute.

Last month, I rented a car from GoldCar rental (http://www.goldcar.es/nl/) during our holiday in spain. During our holiday, my wife’s handbag got stolen, including the car keys. Goldcars charged us for replacing them. However, the keys we received were probably not the correct ones. They could be used to unlock the car remotely and they fitted the ignition. however, they did not fit the door locks. Nevertheless. as they allowed us to continue using the car, we did not complain about this oversight. At the end of our holiday, I returned the cars without problems. The car was not even checked for damage by goldcar.

On me arriving at home, I noticed that goldcar had charged my credit car for over 400 euros. On inquiring, they stated this was because the door locks of the car were found to be damaged and that the keys no longer worked on them. However, I’m sure I did not damage the locks and the keys had never worked on the door locks. The most likely expiation is that goldcar delivered the wrong keys which did not fit the locks. Moreover, goldcar did not inspect the car when I returned it. If the issue would have emerged at that time, I could have explained what happened.

I have sent several letters and emails to goldcar but they have not responded.

Desired solution:

I want the amount charged for replacing the locks to be repaid.
