My complaint:

Please excuse my English message 🙂
I went to the local dealer ( Amsterdam ) and explained to the person that I needed a new phone because my old one is not working ( just finished my 2 year contract with phone + insurance ), I showed the phone to the guy and he agreed that it was not functional. At the same time the shop guy sold me a new Arena LG phone with a new 2 year contract, this time I told the shop guy that I did not want to have the phone insurance (EUR 6 per month) on my new contract, he said its fine, you will not have to pay the insurance any-more. To my surprise I realized that VODAFONE has charged me for the last 17 months EUR 6 per month for my old telephone that in front of the shop guy, I put in the garbage bin when I got my new LG ARENA phone. My point is that the shop guy could have been more Customer Service oriented and mentioned to me that in HOLLAND to STOP the Phone INSURANCE of any old phone/contract you have to send a “”post letter””to some Vodafone office requesting the cancellation of the insurance, not just by finishing the contract. So…once the shop guy sold me a new 2 year contract he was fine because he did his job. If you do not read All the “”general terms and conditions of vodafone garant”” on-line, this can happen to you. I would advice Vodafone dealers to explain better to the Clients that every service can be obtained/contracted and cancelled/stopped in the shop directly, Unless the Toestelverzekering !!

15 years ago - Dear Alexis, Thank you for your message. As you might already figured out, a Vodafone phone insurance can only be cancelled by a written cancellation letter. The cancellation procedure is stated in the General Terms and Conditions of the phone insurance. Therefore a cancellation of an insurance is your own responsibility. However, I am willing to make an adjustment of four months insurance premium. This credit entry will automatically be allocated with your next invoice. Also I will terminate your phone insurance dating from 23 February 2011. In case of any questions, please feel free to reply. Kind regards, Jeffrey Vodafone Webcare Nederland
