My complaint:

I bought the Lifestyle 222 in Venlo in September. On 23rd December it was delivered to my home in Germany. From how it looks I am quite happy. But now comes something which I totally can’t accept. After 4 days having the bed here – the whole bed is smelly and I can’t take it any longer. On 24th I already went to the shop and they were able to give me a topper which was less smelly as the one we got delivered. Nevertheless they didn’t find that my topper was smelly and the problem of smelly bed was also not known – I don’t believe it when I hear the comments here! Now we have the windows in the bedroom opened and hope that the smell flies away – until now – not yet. The shop assistant replied to me that all furnitures when they are new have some smell – I disagree when we talk about beds. I am not so sure if we are facing here some health troubles after some time. We have a baby also sleeping in the bed which makes me extra worried. I am thinking to test it in a laboratory – that can’t be healthy. Swiss Sense talks about sleeping comfort – we don’t have it since 23rd December. Didn’t expect to be confronted with a chemical mixture before, while and after sleeping. It is definetly not only the topper which is smelly – also the lower parts are giving away this chemical smell.

Desired solution:

When Swiss Sense fulfills his promise of sleeping comfort. Chemical smell is nothing you should find in a bed.

Swiss Sense deliverd another matress but that one was also smelly (but different). As we now have the bed for 3 weeks - and the smell is gone - I refused to take another also smelly matress and start the story over again. The person who supplied it agreed with me that he can also smell the fume. Now the smell is less extreme but still exsisting. We had the windows constantly open which cost us energy to heat up the room in the evening. Now it is better - but not gone. I am worried what kind of fume this is - I called the hotline after I talked to a environmental office who asked me first to contact Swiss Sense and request certificates which can calm my worry that no harmful materials are used in this bed. But the person there responded that he can't tell me anything unless I write email to them. According to their webpage - I can only see that the textiles are tested for harmful substances - but how about my matress. More over I am now also clear that they have different types of materials they use - as the matress they delived to us had more a smell of glue (while our smell is more sour). If this is not solved soon, I will ask a team from Eco Cologne to come to my home and investigate the smell. I am not willing to sleep on a time bomb. At the moment Swiss Sense can't give any reply. I am really disappointed as we have not chosen a bed for 3200 Euros and who knows in some years we have allergies or possibly worse.

14 years ago - Swiss Sense wanted to sent to me the TUV certificate which confirms no harmful substances in the matress. Until now no reply. I have now taken a sample and in two weeks it is checked if the matress has any harm for our health. The bed itself is also not as good as I thought. We still have back pain and the matresses are still too soft.
